The course first opened in 1990.

The course is located in a valley and features gently rolling terrain. The fairways mimic the landscape and vary in width.  Local golfers say this course has "the nicest greens around," due to excellent maintenance and consistency of play. 

Hole #6, a 413-yard, par 4, features a sloped fairway that is guarded by a hall of trees, which creates a blind tee shot.  

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,146 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,318 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 515 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 100 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 5, a 486-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Mound Grove Golf Course is # 17, the 100 yard par-3.
